For many aquarium hobbyists, choosing and planting live aquarium plants can feel overwhelming. Questions about algae, snails, plant care, and success rates often make beginners hesitate before getting started.
What Is 1-2-GROW!?
1•2•GROW! plants are tissue-cultured aquarium plants grown under sterile laboratory conditions. Unlike traditional aquarium plants, they are produced in a clean environment and arrive ready to be planted directly into your aquarium.
- Free from algae
- Free from snails
- Free from unwanted pests
- Produced without pesticides
- Fresh and ready for planting
More Plants in Every Cup
One of the biggest advantages of 1-2-GROW! is that each cup contains many small plants.
Instead of planting a single specimen, you can divide the contents into multiple portions and spread them throughout your aquarium. This creates more planting points, helps establish coverage faster, and allows you to create a fuller, more natural-looking aquascape from day one.
Easy to Plant
Getting started with 1-2-GROW! takes just a few minutes:
Step 1: Remove and Rinse
Take the plant out of the cup and gently rinse away the growing media

Step 2: Divide and Plant
Separate the plant into several smaller portions and plant them into your substrate. Leave a little space between portions so the plants have room to spread.

Step 3: Watch Them Grow
Once planted, the plants will adapt to your aquarium and begin growing underwater.

Finding the Right Plant for Your Aquarium
One of the biggest challenges for new aquarium hobbyists is knowing which plants will thrive in their setup. Not every aquarium plant has the same requirements, and choosing the right plants from the beginning can make the difference between immediate success and unnecessary frustration.
That's why every Tropica plant is categorized by difficulty level and includes clear guidance on light, CO₂, fertilization, and placement.

Easy: A great choice for beginners. Easy plants can grow under simple aquarium conditions and are usually the most lowmaintenance option.
Medium: These plants benefit from better lighting, regular fertilizer and added CO2 to help them grow at their best.
Advanced: Advanced plants need stronger lighting, stable CO2 and more regular care. Ideal for experienced aquascapers.
