Layout 131 (298 L)
For this layout, I found inspiration in nature and forest areas with many textures and shades of green. I deliberately tried to keep the colors within the green spectrum, without too many brownish and red hues. I have chosen to go with these relatively thin, dark, and discreet roots to achieve as natural a look as possible. I have a background in biotope aquariums, of which I have actually created more than regular aquascapes. Some might also recognize this in this layout.
I have also used a number of stones to create this layout, including a couple of quite large ones. I don't remember the exact number, but I believe around 50 kg of stones were used. The beautiful textures on the stones help to emphasize the natural aspect of the scape. The heavy stones rest on plastic holders to protect the bottom of the aquarium.
The scape attempts to imitate nature's mighty forces in the quiet tranquility of the forest's depths, where the dense green areas of bushes, plants, and trees can resemble mighty waves washing over the landscape. Therefore, the layout is created from two green 'waves' that wash in from each side, with the long, wavy Cryptocorynes as extra 'splashes'."
